US: Nine Rebels Killed in Afghanistan
The US military claimed that their forces killed nine militants including al-Qaeda and Taliban commanders in two clashes in southern Afghanistan, while nearly 30 militants were detained by Afghan and foreign forces. Afghan and US-led coalition troops killed four militants, including al-Qaeda and Taliban commanders.

M4 Round Has Strong Competitors
The loss of active barrel length in the M4 cuts the overall effectiveness of particular loads of the 5.56 round that many already considered to be too small and weak. Recognizing the dilemma,manufacturers are developing rounds for the AR platform that could bridge accurate lethality and shorter barrels.
Local Fishermen Honor Wounded Warriors
The Hampton Roads United Services Organization (USO) teamed up with a local organization of several dozen fishermen known as "Heroes on the Bay", to host roughly 70 wounded warriors to a day on the bay, at Cove Marina, Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek.
